Havana Grey (Havana Gold ex Blanc de Chine) continuous to impress and went on to win the Group 3 Bombay Sapphire Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood yesterday.
Already a winner of both the Listed National Stakes and the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown this season, the 2yo colt was a 7-2 chance under PJ McDonald. The Karl Burke trained grey jumped the gates quickly and stayed on strongly to win by a length and three-quarters from favourite Invincible Army. Having already provided his sire Havana Gold with his first black type winner earlier in the season, Havana Grey has now also provided his sire with his first Group winner.
Trainer Karke Burke revealed yesterday to TDN that Havana Grey is poised to run in the Group 1 Prix Morney at Deauville on August 20.
Havana Grey was consigned by Coulonces and sold for €70,000 to BBA Ireland at Arqana’s 2016 August Yearling Sale. The colt is owned by Global Racing Club and Mrs Elaine Burke. He was bred by Mickley Stud and Lady Lonsdale and is out of the six-time winning sprinter Blanc de Chine. Click here to view Havana Grey’s pedigree.
Congratulations to all connections!
