Dual Group 1 winner LAURENS gave trainer Karl Burke and jockey P.J. McDonald their first taste of classic success today with a determined victory in the Group 1 Prix de Diane Longines at Chantilly.
Having rounded off her juvenile campaign with a Group 1 triumph in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket, the daughter of Siyouni returned to that venue to finish second in last month’s 1000 Guineas. Laurens gained her second Group 1 win in The Gurkha Coolmore Prix Saint Alary at Longchamp in end of May 2018.
There are horses that are solid Group 1 material through and through and John Dance’s Laurens proved the epitome of that yet again today when producing her usual level best to garner glory in an exciting renewal of Chantilly’s Group 1 Prix de Diane Longines.
The filly was part of Coulonces Sales’ first draft sold at GOFFS UK’s Premier Yearling Sale in 2016. She became the top priced filly at the sale, when knocked down for 220,000 GNS to John and Jessica Dance.
Massive congratulations to all connections!
