Exciting filly LAURENS showed tremendous strength to win the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket for Karl Burke.
Laurens won the Group 2 William Hill May Hill Stakes at Doncaster only two weeks ago. The Karl Burke 2-year-old filly was an impressive winner on her racecourse debut at this venue in July before filling the runner-up spot in the Group 3 Prix du Calvados at Deauville in August behind Freddy Head’s exciting filly Polydream.
Karl Burke is already dreaming of next year’s French Oaks, the Prix de Diane.
Laurens is by Siyouni and out of Recambe (Cape Cross). The filly was part of Coulonces Sales’ first draft sold at GOFFS UK’s Premier Yearling Sale last year. She became the top priced filly at the sale, when knocked down for 220,000 GNS to John and Jessica Dance.
